Battenfeld offers a complete product range for the production of high-quality PP or PE pipes in diameters ranging from 10 mm to 2,000 mm, with output rates from 50 kg/h to 2,500 kg/h. These pipes are predominantly used as drinking water and sewage pipes, for gas transport and as cable conduits.
Battenfeld offers tailor-made solutions for pipe production with its new modular single screw extruder concept. Depending on the requirement, extruder processing lengths of 30 L/D to 40 L/D are available. In addition to the basic version with a processing length of 30 L/D, the second variant is a version equipped with a 35 L/D processing unit. Thanks to the extension by 5 D, these extruders equipped with the same drive technology provide a 20 % increase in the output rate compared to the basic model. Combined with the optimised screw geometry, the machines of this series offer an excellent melt homogeneity, especially at high throughput rates for the manufacture of HDPE and PP pipes. Battenfeld has succeeded in entering a new output range with the development of the new 40 D series. Compared to the 30 D long basic machine, the 40 D extruders convince by their output rates that are 60 % higher with a notably more compact machine footprint. In addition to the extended processing unit, this increase in output rates is due to the newly developed screw geometry, which also ensures optimum melt homogeneity. At the same time, the drive capacity was increased and the grooved bush adapted.
